Accomplishments

©       Awarded and completed the Bronze Medallion Swimming and Senior Resuscitation certifications from the Lifesaving Society of Canada for Lifeguarding at the age of 14

©       Completed High Brown belt level in Tae-kwon-do with only two more levels to complete to reach his black belt

©       Awarded the Gold Medal with his team in the Atom House Division hockey championship 2000-01

©       Awarded the Bronze Medal with his team in the Bantam House Division hockey championship 2003-04

©       Competed in the 2004 Bantam Developmental Hockey Provincial Tournament

©       Awarded the Neil Maynard Award for most Dedicated Player at Bantam division hockey during the 2004 provincial championships

©       Played with the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s minor Softball league

©       Completed Golf Lessons and took pleasure in playing Golf

©       Taken Drum Lessons and enjoyed playing the Drums

©       Learning to play his new six-string Lead Guitar - a Gibson Epiphone.  Playing with his band Zero Tolerance

©       Proud that he was able to master the flying squirrel on his snowboard and could perform ollies on his skateboard

©       Awarded and chosen by his classmates (Grade 9) 2005 at Leary’s Brook Junior High School “The Nicest Smile”

©       Most importantly - Matthew had the beautiful gift of lifting spirits by listening, talking, making people laugh or showing his beautiful smile
