Memorial Mural

The mural shown above is located in the gymnasium of Leary's Brook Junior High School.  It was painted by Matthew's friends the Sunday after Matthew's passing.  This was another part of healing for the students, friends and teachers.  The mural is approximately 12 feet wide by 7 feet high.  Two of Matthew's favorite things are shown - a hockey stick and a skateboard.  Each handprint outlining the mural contains a word or phrase that describes a part of Matthew's personality.  The numbered image below is followed by a key to the phrase for each handprint. The number of handprints represents the number of friends who helped to paint the mural.
